Our expert team on Nicokick compared and reviewed Lucy vs ZYN based on 5 main factors: flavors, strengths, ingredients, price and overall experience.

ZYN vs Lucy: Comparing the Flavors Catalogue

If we start off by comparing the flavors from Lucy vs ZYN, ZYN has the advantage of numbers. The ZYN flavor range has 10 different flavors in the U.S., compared to 5 flavors of Lucy pouches (even if we include the flavors in the Lucy Breakers range as well as Lucy slim).  

ZYN in their range of U.S. pouches offers the full selection of classic flavors: including a variety of mints, citrus, coffee and cinnamon flavored nicotine pouches. However, Lucy has a much more unique and diverse flavor range that not only includes the classic fruit and mint flavors, but also more unique combinations such as cinnamon as well as apple ice (a combination of apple cider paired with a chilling mint flavor).

If are ranking based on who has the strongest pouch, Lucy will win (with a max pouch strength of 12mg) vs ZYN (with a max pouch strength of 6mg). However, at the time of publication, the Lucy nicotine pouch range is marginally cheaper than the ZYN range. 

ZYN vs Lucy: Reviewing the Overall Pouch Experience

ZYN pouches are known for their strong aroma when you open the can and the aligned experience: with the flavor and aroma matching up. Each ZYN pouch is dry, which means there is basically no dripping when you use these pouches. From a single pouch, we have got around 30 minutes of flavor and effect on average. 

If we compare this to Lucy Slim pouches (which are the most similar pouches in the Lucy range - which will make for a fair comparison), these pouches are more moist that ZYN pouches. This means they are a little more comfortable to park, but are slightly different to the typical American dry pouch experience. When testing flavor release, we found that it lasts about 35 minutes or so - a little longer than ZYN pouches. 

However, for overall experience, the most unique experience comes from the Lucy Breakers pouches. These pouches are definitely more moist, with a little breaker capsule containing flavored liquid to add to the flavor experience and soften the pouch up - which is a first of its kind in the nicotine pouch space in the U.S.

Overview: Lucy has the upper hand in terms of range of products, as they cater to different pouch users and have a longer average release time. While both Lucy and ZYN are nicotine pouch brands with some overarching similarities (such as cost and number of pouches per can), they could not be more different.
